ONE
A duty may be assigned off Home Reserve or Airport Reserve provided that prior to the assignment of the duty, the Crew Member’s Roster Period hours are projected to be under 144 hours at the end of the Roster Period (unless the Crew Member agrees to accept a duty in circumstances where Roster Period hours are projected to be above 144 hours prior to the assignment of the duty).
TWO
A duty assigned in accordance with (1) above, cannot result in a Crew Member’s Roster Period hours being projected to exceed 149 hours at the end of the Roster Period after the assignment of the duty (unless the Crew Member agrees to exceed 149 hours at the end of the Roster Period)

Virgin Australia will introduce a standard operating procedure in Crew Tracking to replicate the Blank Day clause 6.4.3 in the Enterprise Agreement and to apply to the assignment of duties off reserve. The SOP will reflect the below:

Where Crew Tracking are seeking to assign a duty above 144 hours and up to 149 hours on a Home Reserve or Airport Reserve, Crew Tracking will not displace a Crew Member from a subsequent duty in order to make that Crew Member available for work on the Home Reserve or Airport Reserve, unless the reason for displacement is genuine and the displacement is accordance with the reasons for displacement set out in clause 6.11, or unless the Crew Member agrees to be displaced 152 hours.
FOUR
Where a duty is assigned in accordance with (1) and (2) above, the provisions contained within Clause 6.2.3 of the Enterprise Agreement will continue to apply. However, where a Crew Member agrees to exceed 149 hours at the end of the Roster Period through the assignment of a duty, the Crew Member cannot be directed to undertake more than five (5) hours of further overtime in the Roster Period unless they agree to do so.
FIVE
Where Crew Tracking are seeking to assign a duty above 144 hours on a Home Reserve or Airport Reserve, Crew Tracking will advise the Crew Member that the duty will, at the time of assignment, project the crew member to be over 144 hours (including Home Reserve credits) at the end of the Roster Period.

Crew Tracking will advise a Crew Member of their projected Roster Period hours (inclusive of Home Reserve credits) on request.
